Google blocks accounts marked as under 18 from signing in to any third-party app an administrator hasn’t configured, and many schools restrict apps for staff too. Until Club Hub is allowed, a student who presses Continue with Google sees Google’s Access blocked page. Club Hub asks only for sign-in and basic profile: openid, email, and profile.

01Google sign-in: allow Club Hub

Needs an administrator with the Service Settings privilege, such as a super administrator.

Recommended pathPre-approve

Configure Club Hub as an allowed app

  1. In the Google Admin console, open Security → Access and data control → API controls. Open API controls
  2. Click Manage App Access → Configure new app.
  3. Paste Club Hub’s client ID, click Search, and choose Club Hub.904248140837-8f9bttqf7k3t5rj0bpfc0cn6j9lm57oc.apps.googleusercontent.com
  4. For Scope, keep the top organizational unit for everyone, or choose the units your students and staff are in. A unit that already has its own setting for Club Hub keeps it, so set those too.
  5. For Access to Google data, choose Limited. Trusted isn’t needed.
  6. Click Continue, review, and click Finish. It usually applies within minutes and can take up to 24 hours.
Alternative pathReview requests

Approve after a student requests access

If students may ask for access to unconfigured apps, open Security → Access and data control → API controls and approve Club Hub under Apps pending review for the right organizational units.

02Gmail: allow-list @clubhub.co

Club Hub emails students and staff about their clubs: announcements, meeting reminders, invitations, and approvals. A strict spam policy can file them where nobody looks, so approve the domain they come from.

Recommended pathPrimary path

Mark clubhub.co as an approved sender

  1. In the Admin console, open Apps → Google Workspace → Gmail → Spam, Phishing and Malware and choose the units your students and staff are in.
  2. Under Spam, tick Bypass spam filters for messages received from addresses or domains within these approved senders lists, and add a list with the domain clubhub.co.
  3. Leave Require sender authentication ticked: Club Hub’s mail is signed for clubhub.co (DKIM, SPF, and DMARC), so it passes. Click Save.

03Google Calendar syncOptional

Anyone can add their club meetings to their own Google Calendar from Club Hub’s Settings, and an administrator can sync the school’s events to a school calendar. That uses a second client, which adds and updates events and, for a school calendar, reads the list of calendars. Sign-in doesn’t need it.

If you restrict appsSame as step 01

Allow the calendar client

  1. Configure this client the same way as in step 01.991833815391-mh6i0ub5aj51un6q52kdeqqcdfgog87b.apps.googleusercontent.com
  2. If your school restricts the Google Calendar service, choose Trusted, or Specific Google data with Calendar, for this client: Limited can’t reach a restricted service.

Microsoft 365 / Entra

Club Hub is a multi-tenant app, so it appears in your directory only after someone consents to it. If your tenant doesn’t let users consent to apps themselves, a student who presses Continue with Microsoft sees Microsoft’s Need admin approval page. One consent by an administrator approves Club Hub for everyone. Permissions requested: openid, profile, email, User.Read, offline_access. No mail, files, calendars, or Teams.

Start with the link rather than searching Entra: Club Hub isn’t in your directory yet. Sign in as a Global Administrator, Privileged Role Administrator, Cloud Application Administrator, or Application Administrator.

Recommended pathConsent link

Grant admin consent in one step

  1. Open the consent link. Open the consent linkhttps://login.microsoftonline.com/common/adminconsent?client_id=1808c6ce-9c8e-40cf-8d70-c2da47e3a7ae
  2. Review the permissions and select Accept. This adds Club Hub to your tenant and consents for all users.
  3. Microsoft returns you to a Club Hub page that says Microsoft sign-in is approved. If it says Approval was not completed, it shows Microsoft’s error code (AADSTS…), which you can look up or send us.

02Confirm Club Hub is in your tenant

Final checkVerify

Review what was granted

  1. In the Microsoft Entra admin center, open Entra ID → Enterprise apps → All applications and choose Club Hub. Open Enterprise apps
  2. Under Security, open Permissions to review the granted scopes.
  3. If Assignment required? is Yes under Properties, assign your student and staff groups under Users and groups. Otherwise everyone can sign in.

03Outlook: keep Club Hub’s email out of Junk

Club Hub emails students and staff about their clubs: announcements, meeting reminders, invitations, and approvals. Add its domain to your tenant’s allow list so they reach the inbox.

Recommended pathDefender

Tenant Allow/Block Lists

  1. In the Microsoft Defender portal, open Email & collaboration → Policies & rules → Threat policies → Tenant Allow/Block Lists. Open Tenant Allow/Block Lists
  2. On Domains & addresses, select Add › Allow, enter clubhub.co, keep 45 days after last used date, and select Add. Microsoft removes the entry once its filters have learned the mail is clean.
  3. If a Club Hub email was already quarantined, release it and report it as clean from Submissions, which teaches the filter too.
